Do you mean the fairy tale that says that living on government assistance is easier or preferable to going out into the real world and earning a living?  I know that after a while people get discouraged and just give up, or that some people just don't believe they have the ability to earn more by working than government assistant pays.

I also think that when people become dependent on government assistance, the idea of losing it is frightening especially after they have already lost confidence in themselves.  And that is what liberalism does; it replaces peoples perception of self reliance with the security of government reliance.

If you don't mind too much, due to some unfortunate instances, I'd rather remain anonymous.  At least for a while.  That is why I hardly ever posted over there any more for several years anyway. 

It is indeed rare when a poor white folk blame their circumstances on others. 

I don't know about that.  It seems to me that the entire Democrat apparatchik like to blame others.  Think "occupy" and the "99%".

I'd say there's less in this country than ever before.

I too think there is less racism in this country than ever before.  But the more "equal" treatment blacks (or anyone) receive, the more they resent any perceived slights.  Nobody can say racism is dead.  But in the "old days", most blacks just accepted that was the way it was.  Today, they don't believe it has to be that way and their sensitivity to the little remaining racism has been heightened.

With so many "participated" threads that have disappeared, I feel little need to participate. How sad.
