I think that settles the GA user fee argument.

Camel, nose, tent.

Once the collection mechanism is in place it is a simple matter to add GA to the list of contributors.  And nothing in the bill about reducing current taxes such as fuel tax.

Your questions aren't tough, just nosy. Though I guess if one were to believe Obama might be a Manchurian candidate, they might seem like tough questions.

Perhaps the real question is:  Why does no one, not even the nosy media primadonnas, know the answer?

IMO, more important than higher education is vouchers for pre school and day care. That's where learning begins and so many kids are denied, only to become failures at school later.

Actually, learning begins at home (or should).

I was reading and doing arithmetic way before my first day of school, as were my own kids, and now my grandkids.

I like to play Bridge (and pinochle), and I like NO TRUMP.

However, he would get my vote in an instant over either the avowed socialist or the non-avowed one on the other side.

I sold cars for awhile after I retired from the airline, and I never saw a hint of discrimination in either the price nor the financing.  And my boss and the finance manager were both black guys, and the owner was asian.

I am glad the folks doing this had to pay a price for their stupidity.

So,if you were on Mars, or somewhere enroute, how would you know when it was time?  Mars's day is different, and there are no "days" or time enroute. And if you were moving fast enough, your clock would not reflect the appropriate time on Earth.

And how would you determine the right direction to face Mecca?

For that matter, a Jew in space moving at light speed would have no idea when the Sabbath was and would likely do work that day many times over, in violation of the strict interpretation of his religious tenets.

Spin Zone / Jaybird Is Worthy

I just wanted to say that I really like this venue, I like that people can assemble to spout off and agree or disagree, and I appreciate that Jaybird has the cojones to go into the "den of infidels" to try to enlighten us.

While I may disagree with him on probably 99% of politics and/or religion, we are brothers in the air and I would gladly ride right seat with him any time.  This kind of fellowship may, in the long run, help us to overcome our disagreements.  Maybe,  Worth a try?

Do you really think he cares about polls?? He has decided in his mind what is right and he is the decider. We all just need to relax and get used to his decisions. Obama and his advisors know best for us all.

Especially Valerie Jarrett

ARTICLE

"Have you ever heard a Republican politician call Hillary a racist for opposing school choice for inner-city black children?

Have you ever heard a Republican politician call Hillary anti-woman for her support of sex-selection abortions, where it's almost always an unborn girl who is killed?

Of course not.

But Trump has changed that.  Trump has shown that voters like it when Republicans don't act as though they have to be afraid of telling the truth, in harsh terms, about Democrats.  That's why his stand on immigration gained so much attention; he was using Democrat-style rhetoric, but he was a putative Republican."

I am waiting for Jaybird's condemnation of slavery going on RIGHT NOW in the middle east and Africa, much of it perpetrated in the name of Islam, rather than rehashing history from 200 years ago that has been corrected generations ago.

Spin Zone / Perverse Incentives Are Ruining Health Care

One Doc’s Story

" Dissatisfaction and burnout among primary care providers—a function of larger and sicker patient panels, inadequate appointment times, more burdensome and tedious administrative tasks, and poor compensation—have been well documented.  The rewards of the doctor patient relationship and the intellectual stimulation of clinical problem-solving were enough to keep some of us in the primary care trenches.  But it was a close call.

With the introduction of CMS's unethical incentive and penalty programs, most notably the Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) and Meaningful Use (MU), an unpleasant practice environment was now an unacceptable one for me."

"The notion that PQRS promotes quality care rests on the flawed assumption that a bloated federal bureaucracy, CMS, can be nimble enough to produce quality measures that keep up with the rapidly evolving state of scientific evidence.  Reality contradicts that assumption. "

In one of my cities in my 35-year airline career, I worked with a gentleman who was a Lebanese Christian American, US citizen.  We got into a discussion of politics one time and he proclaimed that one big problem with the US was there was too much choice, too many decisions to make.

It is that kind of mindset that will contribute to our downfall.
