NRA Attacks Hillary

"The head of the National Rifle Association (NRA) warned Hillary Clinton on Thursday that she faces a long and bitter fight over gun control should she win the White House, declaring: “Bring it on.”

Wayne LaPierre, chief executive of the powerful gun rights lobby group, launched a scathing attack on Bill Clinton, Barack Obama and the media, claiming that the NRA has helped protect millions of children by advocating armed guards at schools.

Clinton “has been clear about one thing – she hates the second amendment”, LaPierre told the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) near Washington. “She hates us and is coming after every bit of our freedom."

I wouldn't be surprised if she became the first woman President.

One can only hope!

But but but.....don't they remember how that ended?

The software here in our forum is easier to use than the new stuff over there.  The only new thing there that is good is the way to post photos.

aaahhhh... if water takes longer to boil because it boils at a lower temp at altitude, wouldn't that mean the pasta would be placed in the "boiling" water at a earlier time, which means it would be earlier when "done"?  People generally don't place pasta in water at a temperature, they start the cooking process at the time water boils.  What am I missing?

Given the same amount of heat (burner level), the water doesn't take a longer time to boil.  It boils faster, because it boils at a lower temperature.  The food takes a longer time to cook to the same level because the temperature is lower.

It's actually that water cannot remain liquid BELOW a certain pressure.  If you put room temp water in a vacuum chamber, you can make it boil at room temperature pretty easily.

Which is why water boils at a lower temp in Denver than it does in Death Valley.
