Spin Zone / how low has Canada gone...
« on: November 12, 2019, 06:16:29 AM »
Don Cherry has been fired for "divisive" remarks, calling immigrants "you people" (oh the horror) and berating immigrants for not honoring Canadian veterns.

The NHL and Rogers Sportsnet can pound sand.

Spin Zone / newspeak continues...
« on: November 07, 2019, 02:40:58 PM »
I read an opinion piece yesterday that claimed patriotism is ok, but nationalism is hateful.

<sigh>

And, of course, the piece continued with the claim was that Donald Trump rode a message of nationlism to the white house.  In other words, President Trump and all those that voted for him were hateful.

Spin Zone / Warren Plan right medicine for health care costs
« on: November 06, 2019, 06:04:20 AM »
yup - that was the headline of an opinion piece in the Boston Herald today (Wednesday).

The writer is Joyce Ferriabough Bolling, someone who bleed liberal liberal liberal all the time.

She laments about the cost of eye drops, she cries about the cost of prescription medicine, she decries "big pharma" getting sky-high profits, she complains that a company has the audicity to discontinue production of a cancer drug (calling it "unconscionable" - I guess she'd be ok with forcing the company to continue production)

Not once does she consider how much it costs to develop and produce medicine.  Not   one   single   time.

Not once

Spin Zone / Rent Control
« on: October 30, 2019, 07:19:25 AM »
Calls for Rent Control are happening in Massachusetts (in 1994 we barred rent control via a state referendum).

I'm wondering if people understand what housing costs (property taxes, cost-of-money, building maintenance, etc).

Does California have rent control?  What about other areas with extremely high housing costs?

Spin Zone / Bill to ban the b-word
« on: October 22, 2019, 04:51:33 AM »
A massachusetts rep has filed a bill (at the request of a constituent) that would ban the b-word.

It isn't too difficult to think of other words/phrases that people might want to ban because the words/phrases are used to "accost, annoy, degrade, or demean."

Spin Zone / a measure of the poor quality of DNC candidates

A recent Franklin Pierce Univ / Boston Herald poll has Michelle Obama on top  in a poll of likely democrat voters in New Hampshire.

Spin Zone / will anyone sue MSM?
« on: October 08, 2019, 10:31:10 AM »
With the abundance of lies and made-up nonsense regarding President Trump feeding the TDS frenzy of all the snowflakes out there, I wonder if there would be cause to sue the MSM for the resulting mental anguish and distress.

probably not, suing MSM would make them feed bad.

Spin Zone / Just no pleasing people...
« on: October 08, 2019, 05:17:42 AM »
It is sad to see how people react to anything President Trump does or doesn't do.

It would be funny, but there are so many negative consequences to the TDS burning inside people.

It is even sadder to see people reacting to lies about President Trump.

Spin Zone / President Trump's promises
« on: October 03, 2019, 04:04:33 AM »
In order to have a reasonable discussion of promises kept and broken, it would be helpful to agree on what promises President Trump made, yes?

Using politfact as a starting point, here is a start of a list

Take no salary
Instruct the Treasury Secretary to label China a currency manipulator.
Reverse obama's cube policy
Make no cuts to Medicare
Build a wall and make Mexico pay for it
Cancel all funding for "sanctury" cities
Get Congress to allow health insurance across State lines
Terminate Barack Obama's immigration executive orders 'immediately'
Establish a commission on radical Islam

.... and I'm running out of time at the moment.  more to come.

Spin Zone / Gun Free Zones - can someone articulate the justification?
« on: September 18, 2019, 02:03:52 PM »
anti-gun fanatics keep pushing Gun Free Zones.

Can someone articulate, in a clear rational manner, how a Gun Free Zone helps anything?

And can that someone articulate why a Gun Free Zone wouldn't be a clear violation of our Constitutional rights?

Spin Zone / What is it with the DNC?
« on: September 18, 2019, 09:04:35 AM »
Obama doesn't know how many States in the United States

Liberals can't tell the difference between what a comedienne says and an actual candidate

There was that genius that was worried about an island flipping over

Liberals can't tell the difference between illegal aliens and legal immigration

(there is a character limit on posts, so we can't enumerate all the stupid things spewing from the mouths of DNC members)

One latest is Joe Biden talking about the "Rite Aid strike" in the Boston area last April.

Joe Biden that gift that keeps on giving.

Spin Zone / Justice-involved person
« on: August 27, 2019, 05:44:31 AM »
Words fail me.

San Friscisco doesn't have any more problems with juvenile delinquents or convicted felons (side question:  can someone be a felon without being convicted) or criminals.  Simply wave the magic fairy dust and those punks/thugs/criminals/whatever are now simply Justice-involved persons.

This is kind of ironic given how San Francisco embraced the Dirty Harry franchise.

I wonder if San Francisco will come up with a new name for the victims of crimes.

Spin Zone / Amazon rainforest burning
« on: August 24, 2019, 04:41:32 PM »
I admit this will be somewhat snarky but...

With the extensive Amazon rainforest fires, I wonder

1)  How much impact that will have on global climate change (contrasted with what MMGW zealot claim Mankind is causing)

2)  How President Trump will be blamed for it.

Spin Zone / Life sentences without parole.... maybe
« on: August 13, 2019, 05:08:50 AM »
A couple of Massachusetts representatives are proposing bills that would allow convicted murderers sentenced to life without parole to be eligible for parole in 25 years or 35 years (depending on the bill).

I was shocked to learn that the representatives are democrats, shocked.

There seems to be a theme with democrats, loans aren't repaid, oaths are routinely broken or ignored, mandatory isn't really mandatory.
