I got mine to satisfy my DIL while she was going through her chemo. Same reason as yours, Rush.  Now I hope I won't regret it.

Trump was president for four years.  He's been campaigning for the 2024 election for almost 9 months. So it is intriguing that instead of tuning in on a set of new contenders to compare with a known quantity one would prioritize the known quantity at the exclusion of the contenders, who are already less well known.  Seems existing bias would would likely be confirmed.
Not bias. Just not interested in listening to a bunch of people pretending that things are “normal”  and that America isn’t being held captive by a criminal cabal, of which Congress seems to be a part.  This country has some very big fish to fry, and that slate of candidates isn’t looking like they’d be effective in the kitchen.

He needs to take a long walk off a short pier in Cape May. Large splash, I'm sure.

That man has never taken a long walk.

They won’t really care this time if we don’t wear masks and get shots. That pressure will be tepid, although fear will be stoked. The most important thing to them is having mail-in ballots.

Presentism, noun:  Interpreting past phenomena in terms of current beliefs and knowledge.
If we knew then what we know now we would have droned the lab.  Oopsie, sorry.  Here's a billion dollars.  Cheap at half the price.  Or cut off Foochi's gain of function research dollars.  I really wonder how much of that is SILL going on?  Hey, let's make a super infectious, more lethal, vaccine resistant version of smallpox.  And let's do it in China where there are no restrictions on this kind of research.  What could possibly go wrong?

Tropical birds must be like monkeys. You can’t potty train them because they have no instinct to care where the scent of their droppings goes because they evolved in jungle canopies where their poop falls to the ground far away so they just poop whenever.

  Kinda like San Francisco?

He would have been excoriated had he not acted and taken the advice of Fauci and the others in the medical community. You just don't want to believe there was no other alternative.  You’re wrong, again.   ::)

Why I'm old enough to remember watching the news and seeing the "Donald Trump Covid Death's" numbers run 24/7.   Over and over we listened to how, somehow, these deaths were his fault.

So imagine being a president, when all of the sudden these so called health experts run into the WH wanting an emergency meeting.  Then as president being told "Do something!!! Millions will die!!".  Then the experts trot out highly manipulated data, again showing how millions will die.

Last I checked DJT doesn't hold a medical degree.  So here are the "experts" backed up with their UniParty supporters screaming death and destruction.

The president could have said "I smell BS, get out of here", or "Let's just let the states handle it", in which he would be excoriated for every actual death or presumed death from covid.  The UniParty could have had the ammunition to demand the 25th and remove him because "he's a danger to our democracy!".

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.  Notice DJT never mandated vaccines, that was FJB.  DJT didn't demand people lose their jobs, that was FJB.   Also, DJT tried several times to bring down the national response, only to be criticized over and over.  Remember his statements about opening back up by Easter?  Remember the unending attacks and threats "You'll kill millions!"

Also remember when DJT did bring in other experts?  Dr Scott Atlas ring a bell?   Remember how Dr Atlas was dragged through the mud and DJT smeared and more "You'll kill millions!" ?

So yes, the republican establishment wants to put all the blame of the covid response on DJT.  It's how they operate.   They'll never blame GWB for starting two wars over nothing, They'll even look the other way when real actual crimes are committed.  And they'll fuck over the citizens with such claims as "We want to end ObamaCare" then balk when they have both houses and the Presidency.  Or raise the debt ceiling with dubious legislation no one has read.

Guy goes in a pet store and buys a parrot. Takes it home, and immediately the parrot starts using vulgar language and insults.

Day after day, every time he walks past the parrot, it hurls vulgar insults.

Finally one day, this fellow can’t take it any longer.  As the parrot is hurling insults, the owner grabs him, opens the freezer door and shoves it in, and slams the door.

After a few minutes, guilt overcomes the owner.  He walks over and opens the freezer door.  Amazingly the parrot calmly walks out, looks at the owner, and says

“Sir, I wish to apologize for my behavior.  I shall not use insults or vulgarities any longer in your home”

Then the parrot looks at the owner, and quietly ask “So, what did the Turkey do to anger you?”

I totally agree with you on the use of arson as a tool of these leftists. They need to be dealt with accordingly.

You mean fight fire with fire? I like it.   ;D

For a time Mrs. Steingar had a pet Cockatiel. One day the thing shook itself, and this giant cloud of feathers emerged and spread all over the place.  I of course said in my best Southern accent "I  keep all my feathers numbered in case of such an emergency".  It was funny.

Yep!  The left is trying to claim it’s a false flag but it’s not.  He’s a real guy, with a real address, registered Democrat, this is public info, and I used to live there. That’s my old stomping grounds. That area is being taken over by citified liberals. (Used to be upstanding sane people. That’s Jesse Helm’s neighborhood.)  They love their bicycles and the idea of eliminating cars. They’re very hostile to cars. Wake County is infested with angry eco-fanatic cyclists. I don’t believe for one second it’s a false flag.

In fact, I am beginning to suspect arson is catching on as a regular tool of these fruitcakes. Maui and Canada and CA wild fires, all I believe were deliberately set. These people won’t face consequences because the deep state actually wants this. It increase chaos and fear, they can use it to introduce drastic “climate change” mandates and/or declare a national state of emergency justifying more totalitarianism.
I totally agree with you on the use of arson as a tool of these leftists. They need to be dealt with accordingly.

You will not fear lockdowns, shutdowns, and school closings.  You will not fear them because they are constant and normal.  You will have powerful layers of government to force you to comply.  The next generation of surveillance tools will ensure your compliance.  We will deploy the next generation of the virus just ahead of each election cycle.

Two weeks to stop the spread of government!

We look to a future when Americans no longer fear lockdowns, shutdowns, and our kids not going to school. It’s a future when the country relies on the powerful layers of protection we have built and invests in the next generation of tools to stay ahead of this virus.

I just listened to a brilliant conversation between Russell Brand and Jordan Peterson where they said small communities where everybody knows everybody is where morality is born and hence effective governance and one of the biggest problems we have is being governed from a distance and by not being tied by duty to your immediate community allows psychopaths and parasites to prevail.

I had some of the same teachers my mom had. Some teachers went to school with my mom. My uncle taught there and was the varsity boys basketball coach. Small town at it's finest. I moved back after 20+ years away to raise my son here. Now I'm the one who knows and went to school with the teachers.
